Right guys, want to learn how to make an award winning exhibition stand? Well we worked with leading Irish jewellery designer Chupi, from concepts and objectives, to the print and installation at Showcase Ireland, where they won Best Overall Display ahead of 450 other exhibitors!

The Breif

This was the first project we’d undertaken with Chupi so we started off with a sit down between the company owner Chupi Sweetman and our print specialists and graphic designers. This ensured we understood the driving forces behind her brand identity and where she wants to go next. It’s important that the materials we use and the structures and designs we present to her properly reflect her brand ideals and the best way to find this out is a good chat.

Chupi Display stands We learned that she had artwork from her packaging and promotional material that she hoped to bring throughout her whole exhibition display. She’d also seen some cardboard display stands that she thought would work brilliantly for displaying her jewellery and wondered if we could wrap them in print so that they would reflect her branding at the show.

After a great meeting we had made plans and (forwarding on past another good few emails and phone calls ๐Ÿ™‚ ) we had our list of requirements:

Main panel:
Final physical SIZE without bleed:: 4950mm wide x 2500m high approx (refer to file for exact size)
-10mm foam , printed 1m wide by 2m high panels which slot together to form shell with the shell scheme

Right-hand panel:
Final physical SIZE without bleed: 1890mm wide by 2500mm high
-Printed full color CMYK

Wraparound for the tubes:
SIZE: 15 pieces 1.3m x 1m approx. (refer to file for exact size)
-Printed matt laminated paper which we will then wrap around the cardboard cores
-There are three different files of various floral designs, print 8 copies of each giving us 24 in total in case of damage

Logo:
SIZE without bleed: 700mm x relevant height wide
-Printed on metallic board, cut out around logo and mounted on 5mm foam. Print 4 copies of this. One for the right wall and one for the fascia board, 2 back up

Flowers:
SIZE: (refer to file for exact size)
-Cut out flowers graphic on 10mm foam board
-This is the most complicated to cut out, it has several layers: original art, key lines, art with fill (which is basically exactly how we want the finished flowers to look)

Print and Installation

Next we were on to printing it. We ran off a couple of samples to make sure they were happy, and if we do say so ourselves, the print was so clear it would have been hard not to have been ๐Ÿ˜‰

Finally it was installation time. Chupi had decided to use the display at a couple of previous exhibitions so we were not there to install it this time. However we sent our photographer to take a few snaps of the process. The team was amazing at getting the job done!

Q) How has the brandโ€™s equity or position in the market been improved?

“It was the first unveiling of our lookbook shoot, the way Horizon utilised our images has meant that our image has become recognised within the fashion community.”

Q) How did the display meet your goals such as activations, enquiry levels or increasing brand awareness?

“We had a target list of stockists, the display from Horizon and the subsequent award ensured we met 100% of our target list with an additional 120% more orders meaning we achieved 220% of what were expecting. We are a new brand and winning the award thanks to Horizon gave us the gravitas, our enquiry rate was 5 fold what we had forecast.”

Q) What media exposure did you get from this display?

“The quality of the display ensured we featured in the Irish Times, on the Six-One News and were retweeted across Twitter. Something we could have never achieved without Horizon!”
